The spa Štós offers a good selection of relaxes as well as curative stays. Curative stays are focused especially on people with respiratory tract diseases and people with allergies.This spa resort is located in a beautiful surroundings of fir and spruce forests on the southern slopes of the Slovak Ore Mountains and belongs among the smaller spas suitable especially for those, looking for peace and quiet atmosphere. Its natural curative factor consists of the moderately stimulating climate, which is caused by its extraordinary suitable position opened southward at 670 m above the sea level. Such climate, according to the swiss classification marked with number 1, has beneficial effects on people with different allergies and asthma. The spa also offers a unique speleotherapy in the nearby Jasovska cave, which is focused on the upper respiratory tract.
Favourable climatic conditions amplified by modern medical science and practice under the application of hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, inhalation and drug treatment, therapeutical gymnastics and dietetics create favorable conditions for the treatment of patients suffering from certain ailments of the respiratory organs. Indicated are especially recurring chronic inflammations of bronchi (bronchitis), dilatation of bronchi (bronchiectasis) and conditions following pneumonia.
